Summary of the crucifixion
Jesus was brought to Pilate for questioning, due to his belief that he was the king of the Jews. Pilate found him not guilty, while the chief priests and elders along with the council wanted him crucified. After the revolt of the people who screamed "Crucify, Crucify," Pilate flogs him and the soldiers mock him, then made him carry his cross to a place called Golgotha(Place of Skulls) with the help of Simon where he hangs in pain and stilled made fun of by people who pass. Mary and John visit Jesus on the cross, this is when Jesus gives him mother to John for him to take care of. Jesus was no longer considered a master of his disciples but a brother. Jesus was then given the cup of consummation, which was a drugged wine to drink. Jesus cries out, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" this was when he gives up his life and turns over his soul. Two criminals were crucified beside him. The soldiers took Jesus' garments and divided it up among themselves. The day of the Sabbath the by standing women weep over all that has happened.
